Hi! I’m Anita, a mother of 2 young girls and a chocoholic! I lost all my baby weight when I cut out sugar from my diet even though I still ate healthy chocolate every day. Some might say that’s impossible, but I’m living proof that it can be done!

This sugar-free chocolate spread is a healthier alternative to Nutella because it doesn’t contain any sugar or modified palm oil, which causes inflammation in the body.

It’s also a low-carb version of the Pana chocolate spread that I love but isn’t great for weight-loss as it contains coconut sugar.

The consistency makes this sauce more like a sugar-free chocolate sun butter or spread than homemade chocolate syrup. It is perfect for sneaking a spoonful when you feel like a chocolate treat.

How to store sugar-free chocolate sauce

The sauce will stay in your pantry for a month or two. Mine always gets eaten long before then anyway and I’m sure yours will too.

If you store it in the fridge the coconut oil will solidify so you will need to gently warm it in a microwave in 10 second intervals alternating with stirring or in a bain marine over medium heat. Make sure your microwave is on a low setting so you don’t accidentally burn it.

sugar free chocolate chia pudding

Sugar-free chocolate chia pudding

Chocolate chia pudding is a favorite snack of mine, and I wanted to share this sugar-free chocolate chia pudding recipe with you!

This recipe is both delicious and nutritious. It has only 3 ingredients and is super simple to make.

Chocolate chia seed pudding is high in fiber and protein, making it the perfect snack or tasty dessert for people who are looking to stay healthy and lose weight.

I’ve been making chia pudding for about 10 years. Before superfoods became popular. But it’s only since last year I’ve started making sugar-free.

This recipe is keto-friendly because it is gluten-free and doesn’t have sugar in it. It is also low-carb making it a great snack for weight loss.

I love that this keto chocolate chia pudding satisfies any chocolate cravings and the chia seeds keep me full for longer so I stop snacking after dinner and can fast until 11 am the next morning.

It is one of my favorite recipes to make when I feel like cheating and having a bar of regular chocolate.

You can make it advance and keep it in the fridge so it’s ready to go. Or it only takes about 10 mins to gel to a pudding consistency.

Sugar-free chocolate chia pudding is a great breakfast for the kids and I’ve also taken it camping for a ready-made healthy snack.

Chia seeds are a superfood that are high in fiber, protein, and antioxidants. They have been shown to improve heart health, help with weight loss, and reduce inflammation.

Chia seeds are also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for brain health.

Sugar Free Chocolate Chia Pudding

Low-carb and keto chocolate chia pudding that satisfies chocolate cravings
Prep Time5 minutes
Resting time10 minutes
Total Time15 minutes
Course: Dessert, Snack
Keyword: chia pudding
Servings: 1
Author: Anita Chocolate

Equipment

  • jar with lid

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder

Instructions

  • Simply mix all the ingredients together in a jar. Shake it. Yeah ‘Shake it like a polaroid picture’. Then pop it in the fridge for 10 mins for the chia seeds to swell into a gel. You may need to give it another shake after 10 mins. Then dig in. Simple! Just the way I like it.

Tips

  • Add the almond milk first so the chia seeds don’t get stuck on the bottom of your jar. I also like to lie my jar on its side so it’s easier to shake.
  • Use unsweetened almond milk and a clean protein powder.
  • When choosing a protein powder, nut milk or other products read the ingredients list to see what it is sweetened with. Sugar goes by many names so make sure there is no sneaky sugar in it that will spike your blood sugar.
  • I like to use this protein powder, the Nuzest Clean Lean Protein in rich chocolate. It is sweetened with kutemfe so I don’t need to add any other sweeteners and it contains zero sugar.
  • Top your chocolate chia pudding with fresh or frozen berries or cacao nibs for a little crunch.

Variations

  • If you don’t have protein powder you can use cacao powder and monkfruit instead. Cacao gives this chia pudding a rich chocolate flavor.
  • If you aren’t concerned with weight loss or this is for kids, you may want to add a Tablespoon of honey or maple syrup.
  • You may need to add a sugar-free sweetener depending on how far along your sugar-free journey you are and what protein powder you use.
